Analysis Of The Book Virginian Luxuries Pictures Essay

1. â€Å"Virginian Luxuries† pictures clearly portraits that there are two kinds of persons i.e.; white men and the black people. The white men have possessed the power, and other two black people seem they lack and don’t have any power in front the white men. This picture represents the physical and sexual exploitation of the slaves in the society. The first picture at the left side has shown well-dressed white man kisses to a black woman. But at the right side of the second picture a white man canes a half-naked black man. If we looked in the past era the pictures seem was drawn from the history, which reveals that the white men are on power lawyer and the black people are a slave to those white men. It has shown the clear indication that the white oppressed the black people in the past. In the first left side picture, the black woman is used temporarily for the white man’s pleasure and in the second right side picture, the black man is treated tranny. These tw o pictures are a clear exemplary to be able to notice the unequal power relationships between the white masters and the black slaves in the past. Alexis de Tocqueville describes the three races in the U.S. in the period of 1855. Elinor vs. Marianne Compare-contrast essay Jane Austens 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility puts across an account involving two English sisters who come across a series of hardships in their endeavor to find their personal identities in a relatively hostile environment. Elinor and Marianne Dashwood are forced to leave their home, the estate at Norland Park, consequent to their fathers death. The two experience economic problems and come to see the world with different eyes as they move in a small house and as they interact with people who are primarily motivated by finances. Even though the two sisters have diverging personalities, they go through similar experiences and they come to have similar perceptions of society. From the very first part of the novel readers are presented with the general atmosphere in England during the late eighteenth century. Women are discriminated and men come to inherit property belonging to their tutors. Men were typically provided with inheritances coming from their mothers and fathers alike. Answer: Introduction: An exchange relationship in marketing simply means that when an individual and organization tries to satisfy the needs or wants and in return they offer money, services and even goods. Hence this exchange relationship turns into the relationship marketing. In relationship marketing there is a long term relationship with the target audience which helps the business or the organization to grow and hence marketing is increased. Any business or organization that provides values to the customers builds a good exchange relationship because customers are the only one that helps in the marketing of any business. It is very important for the marketers to create a good relationship with the customers and the stakeholders so that ultimately marketing is increased. A good marketing network only means a good relationship network. Marketing exchange which later turns out to be an exchange relationship is crucial in marketing. When exchange takes place then both the parties should have something of value for each other. Mainly its the utility that motivates the people to get engage in the marketing exchange. It has maintained a "premium mass" image. This balance has helped Tupperware in countries like India and China where customers aim to have a brand status with good quality with affordable prices. Product localization with the help of ground design has played an important role in the Tupperwares growth in India. Before entering into the market Tupperware surveyed about local players and the way they make money at insane prices. They also reassessed their entire business model so that cost beyond overheads and other costs can be effectively managed. In India Tupperware used a locally developed mold for the eco bottles that it produced which helped the company to compete with the lower cost rivals yet maintaining the premium image of the product (Singh Shankar, 2010). This company also raised the local talent so that can have the better understanding of the domestic market. Tupperware has built a strategic foundation in the new markets of India and china (Inside Retail Asia, 2015). Tupperware in India had grown strongly and its revenues in 2009 contributed 29 percent of the total companys overall local currency growth among Asia pacific emerging markets that includes countries like china, Indonesia and even Malaysia (Mitra, 2012). It was also observed in India that many women joined this company to supplement family income which helped in increasing the sale of the company. Tupperware has also provided resources like human, financial and technological. Tupperware has not only targeted big cities of India and china but it has also targeted the villages and the smaller cities. When an organization and business enter into the new market they bring in the innovation, resources and even learning from the other market and so as the Tupperware has followed. It started with a clear agenda of developing a category on which the whole business was based. Tupperware also converted many consumers of India from using traditional metal food containers to the plastic ones in day to day life. The culture of India is totally different from the china. The direct selling model which is implemented in India cannot be implemented in china because of the strict regulations and the culture of the people. But both the countries offer large markets with no language or cultural barrier. Hence Tupperware has been a huge brand in the china and India as well. Difference Between Green Washing And Green Marketing Green marketing and green washing has become a trend in the organizations and the business now days. Both play an important role in maintaining the image of the organization. These both are actually similar to the corporate social responsibility approach where an organization has to follow the environmental friendly methods that do not provide any harm to others. Green washing and green marketing both the terms are similar to each other but are way different in their meaning. Green marketing is always a better idea to follow by the organizations as it does not create any issue. There are also many organizations in the world that claim that they are using an environmental friendly product but in reality it only turns out to be the fake claim so to understand this there are few difference that are made. GREEN WASHING This is basically a misleading claim that an organization or any business make about the green, eco, sustainable, or even services that they use. There are many companies that claim that the products they are using are ecofriendly or green but in actual these are vague claims that they make (Carbon Compass, 2010). Green washing is mainly based on the public that buy things from the market (Itchy Fish, 2010). The primary objective of green washing is to provide consumers the feeling that the organization is using steps in managing the ecological footprints but in reality they may do very little toward the environment. Green washing refers to the exaggerated claims and it has also become a major challenge for the industry (Forbes, 2012). It even leads to the consumer skepticism. There are many companies that practice green washing and one example is coca- cola. This company claims to be green and it has been asked to look over the marketing material for its Plant Bottle packaging (Zara, 2013). Other companies that practice green washing are: Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Rainforest Alliance, Reynolds American, LEI Electronics, SeaWorld and many others. GREEN MARKETING This is basically an authentic communications about marketing a product or services in a genuine way. It is all about marketing things that are environmentally safe and does not provide any harm. It even includes the areas about the production and the distribution process (Carbon Compass, 2010). On the basis of voluntary FTC regulates the green marketing. Green marketing also includes modification of products, changes the process of production and even modify the advertisement. Main objective of green marketing is to eliminate the waste, make environmentalism profitable, bring out the product modification and reinvent the concept of product. It not only focuses on the direct benefit of a product but it also focuses on the long term environmental benefits. There are also many companies that practice green marketing approach and one of them is Starbucks. This company has green advocates and has bean-to-cup approach. Starbucks also uses coffee cup sleeves that can be recycled which saves approximately 78,000 trees per year since 2006 (Starbucks, 2016). It has also paired up with environmental organization. Chr istine Joy Dar Essay Christine Joy Dar HI Dr. Weaver Assignment #5: In what ways was Manifest Destiny a force for change in the United States during the first 90 years of its history. Was it a force for good, bad, neither or both. The territorial expansion in America that occurred during the 19thcentury was outlined under the doctrine of Manifest Destiny. It was introduced in 1845 by a newspaper editor named John OSullivan. The doctrine referred to the notion that it was Americas God-given right and duty to expand its borders across the North American continent. It was indeed considered a force for change because it brought about Christianity and democracy to more people as well as more land and power to the New World. I do believe that the notion of Manifest Destiny had both good and bad consequences to America and the American people. Some of the good consequences was it did reinforce so much pride and nationalism in the mid-19thcentury. Because Americans believed that it was destined or God-given right to expand Americas borders, expansionists that it was their mission to expand, control and populate the country as they see fit. They believed that it was their duty to conquer and Christianize the land. This was best exemplified by the Puritans notion of establishing a city on a hill. Others also saw Manifest Destiny as a means of American domination of North America from sea to sea. It satisfied Americas lust for land. Land represented wealth and progress and the untapped wilderness provided the expansionists an opportunity for economic advancement. It also gave Americans a means to protect national borders and the removal of foreign influences. It also provided more room for a growin g population Expansion through the Manifest Destiny brought about improvement and progress. As proof, we are now one of the most powerful country in the world because our forefathers followed what was destined for them. It also opened new doors to trade and industry with other countries. By acquiring lands from other places like Alaska fromRussia, more routes for trade and barter was opened that is why we are now one of the most influential player in the worlds economy. The doctrine not only benefitted America economically and religiously but also culturally. With Manifest Destiny, American culture expanded. Americanswere able toshare their culture especially their love of individuality and freedom and these traits were shared to the Indians. The Indianswere able tolearn from the American culture democratic, religious and cultural ways that were beneficial to them. The Manifest Destiny also offered American to discover other places other than the community they grew up i n. Their chance of exploration expanded which enabled them to maximize their potential, discover new ways of living and learn to be innovative. Despite of the many positive gains brought about by the doctrine,opponents also argued and I agree, that there were also some bad consequences from it. It brought about war and conflict by starting a war with Mexico and Spain. We were also branded as imperialist by taking over other countries and territories like Guam, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. Territorial expansion encouraged slavery even more. Although Americans promised that they will not take land of other people like the Native Americans without their consent and through peaceful means, history showed that this did not happen. Slavery of Native Americans was as its peak and many were killed and displaced during the expansion. It also led to the death and suffering of manypeople,particularly the Indians. It also used the name of God in vain to manipulate other people. Land were taken forcibly while the Indians were made to suffer and abused. It was unconstitutional and was a threat to the indigenous populations like American Indians and Native Hawaiians. Although the era of Manifest Destiny has long ended, its influence could still be felt today on every foreign policy decisions. It could be heard in JFKs plan to explore the moon and our interests into other countries like the Philippines. Because America believes that they have an inherent right to mind other countries business and because they think that they have a humanitarian duty to spread democracy around the world, Manifest Destiny continues to loom large in the United States national character. That is the reason why we care aboutPresident Dutertesso called extra-judicial killings and the Syrian refugees, and other conflicts in the Middle East.
